Today is a day that may stir up a mix of emotions—fear, uncertainty, hope, or even unease. Days like this remind us of the incredible power and complexity of the world around us, which can feel overwhelming at times.
It’s natural to feel afraid when we see large shifts happening—when it seems like so much is out of our control. Witnessing the sheer scale of power at play is unsettling, and it can ******* deep fears about what the future might hold.
But here’s what I keep coming back to: presence.
When we attach ourselves to fears of what could happen or replay past events, we leave the present moment—the only place where life is truly unfolding. The future is unknown, and the past has already happened. What we imagine in those places is not happening now, yet our bodies still react as if it is.
Presence brings us back. It reminds us that while the world may feel unpredictable, this moment—right here—is steady. We can breathe into it. We can ground ourselves in it. And in doing so, we can transition through challenging times with a little more ease.
In moments of uncertainty, we have a choice: to be a lighthouse or a towboat. A towboat rushes around, trying to pull everyone to safety, exhausting itself in the process. But a lighthouse simply stands strong, grounded, and unwavering—shining its light so others can find their way. When we root ourselves in the present moment, we embody the steadiness of the lighthouse. We don’t need to fix or carry everything; we simply need to shine, offering hope and guidance to ourselves and others.
I also remind myself that there is a greater force at work—whether you call it God, the universe, or something else entirely. That force is far more powerful than fear, politics, or uncertainty. I don’t know what the future holds, but I know that I can trust in something larger than myself.
If you’re feeling unsettled today, I invite you to take a deep breath and gently return to the present moment. Together, we can navigate these shifts, one steady step at a time. 🌊
Tonight, I’ll be offering a guided meditation to help us ground into the present moment. It’s part of my Candlelight Yoga and Meditation class, held from 6 to 7 PM at Nu Movement. If you feel called to join, it’s a beautiful way to reconnect, breathe, and come back to the steadiness of now. 🕯️✨
